2.0 TSI / TFSI DNUA (EA888 Gen3) — better than factory

The 2.0 TSI / TFSI DNUA (EA888 Gen3) is a four-cylinder turbo engine with 140 kW (190 hp), installed in: Volkswagen Golf VIII (CD1), Audi A3 (8Y), Seat Leon (KL1), Škoda Octavia IV — model years 2020–2024. The engine is considered robust, but it has design-related weak points in the oil pump and timing chain that can become a costly problem over time. MIK does not simply rebuild this engine — we replace the known weak points with revised components.

MIK-Upgrades — why this engine lasts longer

The work carried out includes not only renewing all wear parts, screws, and gaskets, as well as machining the sealing and running surfaces, but also replacing components that are factory-marked with weak points and the Limit the motor lifetime.

• upgraded oil pump
  The biggest weakness of this engine is its oil pump, which from the factory does not generate enough oil pressure and repeatedly leads to failures. Without sufficient oil pressure, error messages, rattling noises, and loss of power quickly become noticeable and almost always result in engine damage. For this reason, we use a specially developed oil pump that increases oil pressure across every RPM range and protects the engine from wear.
• Reinforced pistons
  When power is increased or driven in a sporty manner, this engine is more prone to piston damage in the ring area. It is not uncommon for oil consumption of 0.5 l/1000 km or more to occur, and compression as well as power drop noticeably. The increased temperature in the combustion chamber puts particular stress on the pistons and valves. Modified pistons, improved piston rings, and a specially honed cylinder surface provide a remedy.
• High-quality bearing shells
  During the overhaul, all components are measured and machined precisely. The bearing clearance between the individual components is set to lifetime and performance and thus ensures particularly smooth engine running. In combination with high-quality bearing shells, this engine is also ideally suited for sporty drivers.
• Reinforced timing chain set
  The increased wear of the timing chain is largely due to the chain design and the freedom of movement of the chain links on the guide rails. A revised chain design and a special guide-rail geometry ensure maximum lifetime of the timing chains in this engine.
