Engine overhaul / replacement engine 2.0 TFSI CRZA (EA113 Gen1) rebuild — better than factory

The CRZA is a 2.0-liter TFSI four-cylinder from the Volkswagen Group (EA113 Gen1) with 200 hp, used in numerous Audi, VW, Seat, and Škoda models. From the factory, this engine suffers from known weak points around the oil pump and pistons — at MIK Motoren, these are not only fixed, but permanently eliminated.

MIK upgrades — why this engine lasts longer

The work carried out includes not only the replacement of all wear parts, bolts, and gaskets, as well as machining of the mating and running surfaces, but also the replacement of components that are factory-endorsed as weak points and the Limit the motor's lifetime.

• upgrade oil pump — The biggest weak point of this engine is its oil pump, which from the factory, in combination with a balance shaft module, does not generate enough oil pressure and repeatedly leads to failures. Without sufficient oil pressure, warning messages, rattling noises, and loss of power appear quickly and almost always result in engine damage. For this reason, we use a specially developed oil pump that increases oil pressure across the entire RPM range and protects the engine from wear.
• Reinforced pistons — When performance is increased or the engine is driven hard, this engine is more prone to piston damage in the ring area. It is not uncommon for oil consumption of 0.5L/1000km or more to occur, and compression as well as power drop noticeably. The increased temperature in the combustion chamber puts particular stress on the pistons and valves. Modified pistons, improved piston rings, and a specially honed cylinder surface provide the remedy.
• High-quality bearing shells — During the overhaul, all components are precisely measured and machined. The bearing clearance between the individual components is set for lifetime and performance, ensuring particularly smooth engine running. Combined with high-quality bearing shells, this engine is also ideally suited for sporty drivers.
