Engine overhaul / replacement engine 2.0 TSI / TFSI CCZB (EA888 Gen2) rebuild — better than factory standard

The CCZB is a 2.0-liter TSI/TFSI four-cylinder engine (EA888 Gen2) from the Volkswagen Group with 200–220 hp, widely used in Audi, VW, Seat, and Škoda vehicles. MIK Motoren rebuilds this engine to a level that clearly surpasses its original production condition — known weak points such as oil consumption and timing chain wear are permanently eliminated.

MIK Upgrades — why this engine lasts longer

The work carried out includes not only replacing all wearing parts, bolts and gaskets, as well as machining the mating and running surfaces, but also replacing components that are marked with weak points and the Limit the engine's lifetime.

• upgrade oil pump — The biggest weak point of this engine is its oil pump, which does not generate enough oil pressure from the factory and repeatedly leads to failures. Without sufficient oil pressure, error messages, rattling noises, and loss of power quickly become noticeable and almost always result in engine damage. For this reason, we rely on a specially developed oil pump that increases oil pressure across the entire RPM range and protects the engine from wear.
• Reinforced pistons — When tuned for more power or driven hard, this engine is increasingly prone to piston damage in the ring area. It is not uncommon for oil consumption to reach 0.5L/1000km or more, and compression as well as power decrease significantly. The higher temperature in the combustion chamber then puts particular strain on the pistons and valves. Modified pistons, improved piston rings, and a specially honed cylinder surface provide a remedy.
• High-quality bearing shells — During the overhaul, all components are precisely measured and machined. The bearing clearance between the individual components is set for lifetime and performance, ensuring especially smooth engine operation. Combined with high-quality bearing shells, this engine is also ideally suited for the sporty driver.
• Reinforced timing chain set — The increased wear of the timing chain is largely related to the chain's design and the freedom of movement of the chain links on the guide rails. A modified chain design, along with a special guide rail geometry, ensures maximum lifetime of the timing chains in this engine.
