Delivery times

Unless a different deadline is specified in the respective offer, the goods will be delivered domestically (Germany) within 5 - 7 days, and for international deliveries within 7 - 10 days after conclusion of the contract (if advance payment has been agreed, after the time of your payment instruction).
Please note that no deliveries are made on Sundays and public holidays.
If you have ordered items with different delivery times, we will send the goods in one shipment unless we have made different arrangements with you. In this case, the delivery time is determined by the item you ordered with the longest delivery time.

Engine overhaul / Mercedes Benz 300, 320, 350 CDI OM642.990 — better than factory

The OM642.990 is Mercedes' proven 3.0-litre V6 diesel with 190–265 hp. Despite its robustness, it has known weak points — first and foremost the oil pump and cylinder liners. MIK Motoren systematically fixes these problems and delivers an engine that lasts longer than the original version.

MIK upgrades — why this engine lasts longer

The OM642.990 is not a bad engine — but it does leave the factory with some design compromises. MIK Motoren addresses the known wear points with targeted upgrades that Mercedes never installed itself.

Upgraded oil pump The biggest weak point of this engine is its oil pump, which from the factory does not generate enough oil pressure and repeatedly leads to failures. Without sufficient oil pressure, warning messages, rattling noises, and loss of power quickly appear and almost always lead to engine damage. For this reason, we use a specially developed oil pump that increases oil pressure across every engine speed range and protects the engine from wear.
Bearing bore alignment As mileage increases, the crankshaft bearing seats in the aluminium engine block shift, so perfect alignment of the bearings is no longer guaranteed and engine damage can occur. The main bearing bore must always be honed and fixed with hardened shims. Otherwise, another engine failure is almost inevitable.
High-quality bearing shellsDuring the overhaul, all components are precisely measured and machined. The bearing clearance between the individual components is set for lifetime and performance, ensuring especially smooth engine running. Combined with high-quality bearing shells, this engine is also ideally suited for the sporty driver.
The right cylinder linerOver time, different cylinder liners were used. On the one hand, robust gray cast iron sleeves, and on the other hand, more vulnerable plasma or AluSil coatings, which tend to develop scoring after low mileage and affect the engines' compression. We use only gray cast iron cylinder sleeves to extend the engine's lifetime.

We provide a 24-month warranty on all MIK replacement engines. The warranty covers material and workmanship defects. Proper installation and the use of the specified engine oils in accordance with our installation instructions are required.
