Engine overhaul / replacement engine 2.0 TFSI CDLG (EA113 Gen1) rebuild — better than factory new

The CDLG is a 2.0-liter TFSI four-cylinder from the Volkswagen Group (EA113 Gen1) with 200 hp, fitted in numerous Audi, VW, Seat, and Škoda models. From the factory, this engine suffers from known weaknesses around the oil pump and pistons — at MIK Motoren, these are not only fixed, but permanently eliminated.

MIK upgrades — why this engine lasts longer

The work carried out includes not only the replacement of all wear parts, bolts, and gaskets, as well as machining of the sealing and running surfaces, but also the replacement of components that are factory-fitted with weak points and the Limit the motor's lifetime.

• upgraded oil pump — The biggest weakness of this engine is its oil pump, which, in factory form in combination with a balance shaft module, does not deliver enough oil pressure and repeatedly causes failures. Without sufficient oil pressure, warning messages, rattling noises, and loss of power quickly become noticeable and almost always lead to engine damage. For this reason, we rely on a specially developed oil pump that increases oil pressure across the entire rev range and protects the engine from wear.
• Reinforced pistons — When tuned for more power or driven hard, this engine is more prone to piston damage in the ring land area. It is not uncommon to see oil consumption of 0.5L/1000km or more, and compression as well as power drop significantly. The increased temperature in the combustion chamber then puts particular strain on the pistons and valves. Modified pistons, improved piston rings, and a specially honed cylinder surface provide a remedy.
• High-quality bearing shells — As part of the overhaul, all components are precisely measured and machined. The bearing clearance between the individual components is set for lifetime and performance, ensuring especially smooth engine operation. In combination with high-quality bearing shells, this engine is also ideally suited for the sporty driver.
