Engine overhaul / replacement engine 2.0 TFSI CDLA (EA113 Gen1) rebuild — better than factory

The CDLA is a 2.0-liter TFSI four-cylinder from the Volkswagen Group (EA113 Gen1) with 200 hp, installed in numerous Audi, VW, Seat, and Škoda models. From the factory, this engine suffers from known weak points around the oil pump and pistons — at MIK Motoren, these are not only fixed, but permanently eliminated.

MIK upgrades — why this engine lasts longer

The work carried out includes not only the replacement of all wear parts, bolts, and gaskets, as well as machining the mating and running surfaces, but also the replacement of components that are factory-rated with weak points and the Limit the engine's lifetime.

• upgrade oil pump — The biggest weak point of this engine is its oil pump, which from the factory, in combination with a balance shaft module, does not generate enough oil pressure and repeatedly leads to failures. Without sufficient oil pressure, warning messages, rattling noises, and power loss quickly become noticeable and almost always lead to engine damage. For this reason, we use a specially developed oil pump that increases oil pressure across the entire RPM range and protects the engine from wear.
• Reinforced pistons — When tuned for more power or driven in a sporty way, this engine is more prone to piston damage in the ring area. It is not uncommon to see oil consumption of 0.5L/1000km or more, and compression as well as performance drop significantly. The increased temperature in the combustion chamber puts particular strain on the pistons and valves. Modified pistons, improved piston rings, and a specially honed cylinder surface provide a remedy.
• High-quality bearing shells — During the overhaul, all components are precisely measured and machined. The bearing clearance between the individual components is set for lifetime and performance, ensuring especially smooth engine running. Combined with high-quality bearing shells, this engine is also ideally suited for the sporty driver.
