The BMW N57D30A is a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder diesel with 204–313 hp, used in numerous BMW 3 Series, 5 Series, 7 Series, and X models. MIK upgrades — why this engine lasts longer

The work carried out includes not only the replacement of all wear parts, screws, and gaskets, as well as machining of the mating and running surfaces, but also the replacement of components that are factory-fitted with weak points and Limit the engine's lifetime.

• Upgrade oil pump — The biggest weak point of this engine is its oil pump, which does not generate sufficient oil pressure from the factory and repeatedly leads to failures. Without enough oil pressure, warning messages, rattling noises, and loss of power quickly appear and almost always lead to engine damage. For this reason, we rely on a specially developed oil pump that increases oil pressure across the entire rev range and protects the engine from wear.
• Alignment of the bearing saddle — As mileage increases, the crankshaft bearing seats in the aluminum engine block shift, so proper alignment of the bearings can no longer be guaranteed and engine damage occurs. The main bearing saddle must therefore always be honed and fixed with the help of hardened shim elements. Otherwise, another engine failure is inevitable.
• High-quality bearing shells — During the overhaul, all components are precisely measured and machined. The bearing clearance between the individual components is set for lifetime and performance, ensuring especially smooth engine operation. Combined with high-quality bearing shells, this engine is also ideally suited for the sporty driver.
• The correct cylinder bore — Over time, different cylinder liners were used. On the one hand, robust cast-iron sleeves, and on the other, more sensitive plasma or AluSil coatings, which tend to develop scoring after relatively low mileage and affect engine compression. We use only cast-iron cylinder liners to extend the engine's lifetime.
