Delivery times

The M157.985 V8 biturbo is one of Mercedes AMG's most powerful engine designs — and one of the most complex. From the factory, the engine struggles with an undersized oil pump, vulnerable cylinder liners, and shifting bearing seats. This is exactly where MIK Motoren comes in: with targeted upgrades, it not only restores the original condition, but improves it for the long term. The rebuilt M157.985 runs more quietly, lasts longer, and is designed for performance drivers over the long term.

MIK upgrades — why this engine lasts longer

In addition to completely renewing all wear parts, every M157.985 from MIK also receives engine-specific upgrades that permanently eliminate known weak points:

Upgraded oil pump — The most critical weak point of the M157.985 is the standard oil pump, which delivers too little oil pressure across all engine speeds. Error messages, rattling noises, and engine damage are the result. MIK uses a specially developed high-performance oil pump that reliably increases oil pressure at every engine speed.
Alignment of the bearing housing — As mileage increases, the crankshaft bearing seats shift in the aluminum engine block. Perfect alignment can no longer be guaranteed. MIK line-bores the main bearing housing and secures it with hardened shim elements — an essential step that prevents another engine failure.
High-quality bearing shells — All components are measured precisely, the bearing play is adjusted for lifetime and performance. High-quality bearing cups ensure especially smooth running — even under sporty loads.
Grey cast iron cylinder liners — From the factory, some engines were fitted with vulnerable plasma or AluSil coatings that tend to score and lose compression even after relatively little mileage. MIK uses only robust grey cast iron liners for maximum durability.
