Delivery times

The 3.0 TDI BUG is installed in numerous Audi vehicles, including the Q7. MIK Motoren not only completely overhauls this engine — we also specifically eliminate the known factory weak points and increase the lifetime far beyond standard production level. The result: an engine that lasts longer than new.

MIK upgrades — why this engine lasts longer

The overhaul includes more than just replacing all wear parts, bolts, and seals, as well as machining all mating and running surfaces. In addition, we specifically replace those components that are known from the factory to have weaknesses and that limit the engine's lifetime:

Timing chain — The increased wear of the timing chain is largely related to the chain's design and the freedom of movement of the chain links on the guide rails. A modified chain design and optimized guide rail geometry ensure maximum lifetime of the timing drive in this engine.
Reinforced pistons — If performance has been increased or the car has been driven hard, the 3.0 TDI BUG is prone to piston damage in the ring area. The result is oil consumption above 0.5 L/1000 km and noticeable loss of compression. We use modified pistons with improved piston rings and specially honed cylinder bores.
High-quality bearing shells — As part of the overhaul, all components are precisely measured and the bearing clearance is set for lifetime and performance. High-quality bearing shells ensure especially smooth engine running — even during sporty driving.
