Delivery times

Unless a different deadline is specified in the respective offer, the goods will be delivered domestically (Germany) within 5 - 7 days, and for international deliveries within 7 - 10 days after conclusion of the contract (if advance payment has been agreed, after the time of your payment instruction).

Engine Rebuild 1.8T 20V exchange engine — better than factory

The 1.8T 20V is a classic among the VAG group’s turbo engines — robust, powerful, but with specific weak points that can become a problem at high mileage or when tuned. MIK Motoren brings this engine back to peak condition and, with targeted upgrades, goes well beyond factory standards.

MIK upgrades — why this engine lasts longer

The 1.8T 20V has known trouble spots, especially in oil pressure and oil supply. Our upgrades address exactly these points — for an engine that runs more reliably than factory.

Upgraded oil pump — The biggest weakness of this engine is its oil pump, which from the factory does not generate enough oil pressure and repeatedly leads to failures. Without sufficient oil pressure, warning messages, rattling noises, and loss of power quickly become noticeable and almost always lead to engine damage. For this reason, we rely on a specially developed oil pump that increases oil pressure across the entire rev range and protects the engine against wear.
Reinforced pistons — When driven with increased power or in a sporty way, this engine is more prone to piston damage in the ring area. It is not uncommon for oil consumption of 0.5L/1000km or more to occur, and compression as well as power drop noticeably. The increased temperature in the combustion chamber then puts particular strain on the pistons and valves. Modified pistons, improved piston rings, and a specially honed cylinder surface provide the remedy.
High-quality bearing shells — As part of the overhaul, all components are precisely measured and machined. The bearing clearance between the individual components is set for lifetime and performance, ensuring exceptionally smooth engine running. Combined with high-quality bearing shells, this engine is then also ideally suited for the performance-oriented driver.

The reconditioning of the 1.8 at MIK Motoren includes complete disassembly, measurement of all components, replacement of worn parts with original-quality parts or MIK upgrades, as well as assembly and dynamometer testing. All work is carried out in our workshop in the Osnabrück/Bielefeld area.
