Delivery times

Unless a different deadline is specified in the respective offer, the goods will be delivered domestically (Germany) within 5 - 7 days, and for international deliveries within 7 - 10 days after conclusion of the contract (if advance payment has been agreed, after the time of your payment instruction).

Replacement engine BPY 2.0 TSI/TFSI (EA113 Gen1) — better than the original

The BPY is one of the best-known engines from the VW Group: 200 hp, installed in the Audi A3, VW Golf V GTI, Passat, Jetta, and Seat Leon. But from the factory, this engine has design weaknesses that limit its lifetime. At MIK Motoren, you do not get a standard replacement engine — you get an engine that has been specifically improved exactly where the original design fails.

MIK upgrades — why this engine lasts longer

The work carried out includes not only the replacement of all wear parts, bolts and gaskets, as well as machining of the mating and running surfaces, but also the replacement of components that are factory-fitted with weak points and the Limit the engine's lifetime.

upgrade oil pump — The biggest weak point of this engine is its oil pump, which, in conjunction with a balance shaft module, does not generate sufficient oil pressure from the factory and repeatedly leads to failures. Without enough oil pressure, error messages, rattling noises and loss of power quickly become noticeable and almost always lead to engine damage. For this reason, we rely on a specially developed oil pump that increases oil pressure across the entire rev range and protects the engine from wear.
Reinforced pistons — When tuned for more power or driven hard, this engine is increasingly prone to piston damage in the ring zone. It is not uncommon for oil consumption of 0.5L/1000km or more to occur, and compression as well as power drop significantly. Modified pistons, improved piston rings and a specially honed cylinder surface provide the remedy.
High-quality bearing shells — As part of the overhaul, all components are precisely measured and machined. The bearing clearance is set for lifetime and performance, ensuring especially smooth engine operation. Combined with high-quality bearing shells, this engine is also ideally suited for the performance-oriented driver.

What is the difference between a partial overhaul and a full overhaul?

In a partial overhaul, all wear parts, seals, and bearing shells are replaced, and the running surfaces are machined. A full overhaul also includes new pistons, crankshaft, camshafts, cam phasers, and complete line-bore machining with boring and honing of the cylinder walls.

What is the MIK upgrade oil pump?

The biggest weak point of the EA113 is the standard oil pump, which, together with the balance shaft module, delivers too little oil pressure. MIK Motoren uses an in-house developed oil pump that increases oil pressure across the entire rev range and protects the engine from premature wear.

Do I need my old core part for the exchange?

No. You can also order the replacement engine without an old core part. The price is then higher (from 5.928€ instead of 4.113€ with a rebuildable old core), because no exchange core is returned. If your old core is available but not rebuildable, the price is 5.323€.

Does MIK Motoren also offer installation?

Yes. MIK Motoren offers a professional removal and installation service. The replacement engine is installed directly at MIK's workshop. Prices for the installation service start at 7.864€ (including engine and installation with a rebuildable old core).
