2.0 TFSI BPY (EA113 Gen1) — better than factory

The 2.0 TFSI BPY (EA113 Gen1) is a four-cylinder turbo engine with 147 kW (200 PS), installed in: Volkswagen Golf V GTI (1K), Volkswagen Eos (1F), Audi A3 (8P), Seat Leon Cupra (1P) — model years 2004–2009. The factory balance shaft module combined with the oil pump is the well-known weak point of this engine generation — MIK replaces the module with a proprietary high-pressure pump, thereby addressing the root cause of engine damage.

MIK upgrades — why this engine lasts longer

The work carried out includes not only replacing all wear parts, screws, and gaskets, as well as machining the sealing and contact surfaces, but also replacing components that are factory-rated with weak points and the Limit the motor lifetime.

• upgrade oil pump
  The biggest weakness of this engine is its oil pump, which, when used at the factory in combination with a balance shaft module, does not generate enough oil pressure and repeatedly leads to failures. Without sufficient oil pressure, fault messages, rattling noises, and loss of power quickly appear and almost always result in engine damage. For this reason, we use a specially developed oil pump that increases oil pressure across the entire RPM range and protects the engine from wear.
• Reinforced pistons
  When tuned for more power or driven hard, this engine is increasingly prone to piston damage in the ring zone. It is not uncommon to see oil consumption of 0.5 l/1000 km or more, and compression as well as performance drop significantly. The increased temperature in the combustion chamber puts particular strain on the pistons and valves. Modified pistons, improved piston rings, and a specially honed cylinder surface provide a remedy.
• High-quality bearing shells
  As part of the overhaul, all components are measured and machined with precision. The bearing clearance between the individual components is set to lifetime and performance and ensures exceptionally smooth engine running. Combined with high-quality bearing shells, this engine is also ideally suited for sporty drivers.
