Engine overhaul / replacement engine 2.0 TDI (CR) CSNA - VW Crafter rebuild — better than factory

The 2.0 TDI common-rail with engine code CSNA is one of the most widely used diesel engines in the VAG group — and it has well-known design weaknesses that, without targeted upgrades, will sooner or later lead to engine failure. These include an undersized oil pump driven by a timing belt, as well as an increased risk of piston damage during sporty driving or performance tuning. MIK Motoren fully reworks every CSNA and also fixes these weaknesses with proven upgrade measures — the result permanently exceeds factory condition.

MIK upgrades — why this engine lasts longer

In addition to replacing all wear parts, every CSNA from MIK receives four engine-specific upgrades that eliminate the most common causes of failure:

Upgraded oil pump — The biggest weakness of the CSNA is the factory oil pump: too little oil pressure across all engine speeds. Warning messages, rattling noises, and loss of power announce the impending engine failure. MIK uses a specially developed high-performance oil pump that increases oil pressure consistently and reliably.
Chain drive instead of timing belt — The factory timing-belt drive for the oil pump runs in oil, tears, and from the very first kilometer contaminates the engine oil with rubber abrasion. MIK replaces it with a proven timing chain — low-wear drive, permanently clean engine oil.
Reinforced pistons — During performance driving or sporty use, the CSNA tends to suffer piston damage in the ring area, increased oil consumption, and loss of compression. MIK uses modified pistons with improved piston rings and a specially honed cylinder surface.
High-quality bearing shells — All components are measured precisely, and the bearing clearance is adjusted for lifetime and performance. High-quality bearing shells ensure smooth running — even in continuous operation and under load.
