Engine overhaul / replacement engine 2.0 TDI (CR) CSHA - VW Amarok refurbishment — better than new

The 2.0 TDI common rail with engine code CSHA is one of the most widely used diesel engines in the VAG group — and comes with well-known design weaknesses that, without targeted upgrades, will sooner or later lead to engine failure. These include an underdimensioned oil pump with timing-belt drive as well as an increased risk of piston damage during sporty or performance-enhanced use. MIK Motoren fully reworks every CSHA and also eliminates these weak points with proven upgrade measures — the result permanently exceeds the factory condition.

MIK upgrades — why this engine lasts longer

In addition to replacing all wear parts, every MIK CSHA receives four engine-specific upgrades that eliminate the most common causes of failure:

Upgraded oil pump — The biggest weak point of the CSHA is the standard oil pump: too little oil pressure across all engine speed ranges. Warning messages, rattling noises, and loss of power announce the impending engine failure. MIK uses a specially developed high-performance oil pump that raises oil pressure consistently and reliably.
Timing chain instead of timing belt — The factory timing-belt drive for the oil pump runs in oil, can tear, and contaminates the engine oil with rubber abrasion from the very first kilometer. MIK replaces it with a proven timing chain — wear-free drive, permanently clean engine oil.
Reinforced pistons — In performance-tuned or sporty operation, the CSHA tends toward piston damage in the ring area, increased oil consumption, and loss of compression. MIK uses modified pistons with improved piston rings and a specially honed cylinder surface.
High-quality bearing shells — All components are measured precisely, and the bearing clearance is set for lifetime and performance. High-quality bearing cups ensure smooth operation — even in continuous use and under load.
