Upgrade oil pump
The biggest weakness of this engine is its oil pump, which, when factory-installed in conjunction with a balance shaft module, does not provide sufficient oil pressure and repeatedly leads to failures. Without adequate oil pressure, error messages, rattling noises, and loss of power quickly become noticeable and almost always result in engine damage. For this reason, we rely on a specially developed oil pump that provides the oil pressure in every speed range increased and protects the engine from wear.
Reinforced pistons
When driven with increased performance or sportily, this engine tends to suffer from piston damage in the ring zone area. It is not uncommon for oil consumption to reach 0.5L/1000km or more, and compression as well as power decrease significantly. The increased temperature in the combustion chamber then mainly stresses the pistons and valves. Modified pistons, improved piston rings, and a specially honed cylinder surface provide a remedy.
High-quality bearing shells
In the course of the overhaul, all components are precisely measured and processed. The bearing clearance between the individual components is adjusted to lifetime and performance set and thus ensures an especially smooth engine operation. In combination with high-quality bearing shells, this engine is then also ideally suited for the sporty driver.
